Terms of Service
Effective date: October 28, 2026 Who we are: These terms are an agreement between you and Mainsprout, a brand of Xtended Services Group Inc. ("Mainsprout", "we", "us"), which runs mainsprout.com. Contact: hello@mainsprout.com, 701 Market St, St. Louis, MO 63101
By requesting a free check, buying a service, or giving us access to your DNS settings, you agree to these terms. If you're accepting on behalf of a business, you confirm you're allowed to do that for the business.
1. What we offer
Mainsprout offers two kinds of service to local businesses.
The free check. When you fill out the form on mainsprout.com, we look up your domain's public DNS records (for example MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records). Anyone on the internet can look these up. We don't log in to anything of yours to do it.
We email the results only to an address at the business's own domain (for example, owner@yourbusiness.com). We don't send results to free email addresses like Gmail or Yahoo. If the email address doesn't match the website you gave us, we check by hand before sending anything. We never post or display your results publicly, on our website or anywhere else.
The free check is a snapshot taken on the day we run it. It isn't an audit, a security assessment or a guarantee of anything.
Paid services. Our first paid service is Email Security Setup: setting up SPF, DKIM and DMARC for your domain, so scammers have a harder time sending email that looks like it's from you, and your real email is more likely to reach the inbox. The price is a one-time $149 per domain, covering up to 3 services that send email for you. If you have more than 3, we'll tell you the extra cost in writing before you pay.
2. What the email security setup includes
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, Email Security Setup covers one domain (for example yourbusiness.com) and up to 3 sending services (your main email provider counts as one; booking, billing or newsletter tools count as the others), and includes:
- A short call, and a review of your current DNS records to find where your domain settings live and who manages them.
- Checking which services send email for you (your email provider, plus things like booking or billing tools).
- Fixing or creating your SPF record, the list of who's allowed to send as you, as one record covering the senders you told us about.
- Turning on DKIM, a digital signature on your emails, with your email provider, where the provider supports it.
- Adding a DMARC record. We start in "watch only" mode, check that your real email passes, then, after checking with you, switch it to send fakes to spam or block them. This usually takes 2 to 4 weeks.
- A short written summary of what we changed and how to undo it.
Not included unless we agree in writing: moving your email to a new provider, fixing problems inside third-party apps, setting up DKIM for services that don't support it, ongoing monitoring, website work, or work on more than one domain.
3. Your responsibilities
- You confirm that you own the domain or are authorized by the owner to have us work on it.
- You tell us about every service you know of that sends email as your domain. If a sender is missing from the list, its mail may start failing checks after setup.
- You give us access in one of the ways described in Section 5, and you keep your own passwords to yourself.
- You review and approve each change before we make it.
4. Payment and refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment.
These rules apply to both Email Security Setup ($149 per domain) and AI Visibility Setup ($249 one-time, per location).
- If we can't complete the setup, for any reason on our side or a limitation at your provider, we'll refund you in full.
- Once the setup is complete, the fee isn't refundable.
- If you cancel before the setup is complete, we'll refund you in full. Anything we already changed stays in place unless you ask us to undo it.
- Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. How long they take to appear depends on your bank.
5. Access to your DNS and email settings
To make changes, we need access to the place where your DNS records are managed (your registrar or DNS host), and sometimes to your email provider's admin settings.
- We will never ask for your password. Don't send it to us. If someone claiming to be from Mainsprout asks for it, don't give it to them and contact us at hello@mainsprout.com.
- Where your provider lets you invite another person with limited access (sometimes called delegate access, sharing, or a team member role), we'll ask you to invite us with the smallest level of access that lets us edit DNS records.
- Where your provider doesn't offer that, we'll walk you through the changes on a screen-share while you stay logged in and in control.
- Before each change, we'll tell you exactly what we plan to change and get your OK in writing (email is fine).
- We'll record a copy of your existing records before we change anything, so changes can be undone.
- When the work is done, we remove ourselves from your account and ask you to confirm that our access is gone. We don't keep any login, access invitation or credential after the job.
6. No guarantees
Email authentication helps, but it doesn't control everything. We don't guarantee:
- that your email will land in the inbox instead of spam. Receiving mail providers make their own decisions;
- that no one will ever spoof or impersonate your domain;
- that third-party services you use will keep their settings, keys or sending addresses the same over time;
- any particular result from the free check.
Email Security Setup is a setup service, not a full security audit. It lowers the risk of someone faking your address, but no setup can promise every email lands in the inbox. Our services are provided "as is" except for the promises we make in these terms.
7. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- Our total liability for any claim relating to a paid service, including Email Security Setup and AI Visibility Setup, is limited to the amount you paid us for that service. The free check costs nothing, so our liability for it is limited to the amount you paid, which is $0.
- We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost business or lost email, that result from DNS or email changes, outages at your providers, or changes you or others make after our work.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under Missouri law.
8. Changes and cancelling
We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date at the top, and changes won't apply to work already paid for. You can stop working with us at any time by emailing hello@mainsprout.com. See Section 4 for refunds.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, unless the law requires otherwise.
